PLAY THERAPY (psychotherapy)

Emotional expression is difficult for adults…imagine how hard it is for children! Their little brains are still developing and learning to take in the world. They can only express their emotions with emotions…tantrums, tears, yelling…they need help to verbalize. At Two Trees Therapy Services we help them to express their emotions and provide them with the language and resources to cope with overwhelming experiences.

Play is how children experience the world, cope with stress, and communicate their inner experience. Since their verbal skills are not yet fully developed, they cannot use words to fully express their internal experience of feelings and thoughts. The only way they can express themselves is through play. At Two Trees Therapy Services we are child-center and use a play-based approach. Each child we work with will have the opportunity to express themselves in a safe place with their individual therapist who provides warmth, focused attention, boundaries, and opportunity for exploration and growth. OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY

Our pediatric occupational therapy services help children develop the skills they need to thrive in daily activities. We support children with sensory processing challenges, fine and gross motor delays, self-care tasks, handwriting difficulties, and social-emotional development. Through play-based, individualized therapy, our skilled occupational therapists help children build independence, confidence, and essential life skills. We collaborate with families to create personalized treatment plans that promote success at home, school, and in the community.

PARENT AND FAMILY

At Two Trees Therapy services we recognize that parents and family want to help support their child as much as they can. We offer you and your family strategies, resources, and consultations to be able to better respond to difficulties your child has or may encounter.
